This project addresses the critical need to diversify the engineering workforce by increasing the participation of LGBTQ+ students and faculty.
The Virtual Community of Practice offers a mechanism for members to share knowledge, ideas, and resources and to support one another as they develop and implement action plans to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion in engineering and STEM departments and on college and university campuses.
Safe Zone Ally Training Workshops are interactive training sessions that seek to raise awareness for LGBTQ+ inclusion in STEM and create a visible network of allies to foster a supportive atmosphere for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Our workshops are intended for an STEM audience and were developed by STEM faculty, with input from STEM students and scholars of engineering culture. They explore resources and best practices that work particularly well in STEM classrooms and environments.
